    File Size:

    Version:
    1.0

Authors: Christine Walker and Jo-Anne Tamlyn

First published: 2004, Chronic Illness Alliance.

Description: This report presents the findings of the "The Cost of Chronic Illnesses for Rural and Regional Victorians" project. The project was conducted in two stages. The first stage was a series of public consultations in regional Victoria. The results of the public consultations were used to develop a questionnaire survey that was used in the second stage of the project. The project was unique because it examined all the health costs associated with having family members with chronic illnesses. The questionnaire survey results represent the experiences of 381 rural and regional households with at least one member with a chronic illness. The households comprised 1626 people, of whom 507 had chronic illnesses.
