Internship support
The site will also facilitate collaboration with government, industry and non-government organisations, by encouraging workplaces to register their interest to host sociology interns in their respective home countries. This is a long-term project to be coordinated by SAW with the view to better connecting universities with workplaces in order to expand sociology curricula in the provision of real-world research experience to sociology students, and to broaden sociology students’ vision of themselves as practitioners.
Our members have access to professional networks that might not necessarily have strong academic links, but these organisations might be willing to mentor sociology students and provide them with on-the-job research experience. This workplace register would therefore help to establish and strengthen industry links to groups that may not be currently visible to universities.
If you would like to get involved in making this long-term project possible, please contact us.
